Wolves & Fire Studio is committed to making its website and published work accessible to as many people as reasonably possible, including people who use assistive technologies or interact with the web in different ways. Accessibility is an ongoing part of how we design, review, and maintain the site. It is not a one-time certification or a claim that every page, document, image, or third-party service will work perfectly for every user.

Our Accessibility Goal

 

Wolves & Fire Studio aims to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as the guiding standard for new and substantially revised web content. WCAG is developed by the World Wide Web Consortium, or W3C, and provides internationally recognized recommendations for making digital content more accessible to people with disabilities. We use that standard as a target for improvement. This statement should not be interpreted as a representation that every part of wolvesandfirestudio.com currently conforms fully with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

 

What We Work to Make Accessible

As the site is created and updated, Wolves & Fire Studio works to support accessibility through practices such as:

  • providing alternative text for meaningful images where appropriate;

  • using headings and page structure to organize content;

  • maintaining readable text and sufficient visual contrast;

  • using descriptive links and labels;

  • supporting keyboard navigation where the site platform permits it;

  • avoiding unnecessary reliance on color alone to communicate meaning;

  • considering accessibility when creating figures, graphics, and other visual material; and

  • reviewing new and substantially revised content for accessibility issues.

Wolves & Fire Studio is built using Wix. Some accessibility features and technical behavior therefore depend partly on the capabilities of that platform. Wix provides accessibility tools and supports features including semantic structures, keyboard accessibility, alternative text, and accessibility review tools. Wix also notes that use of its accessibility tools does not guarantee compliance with applicable accessibility laws or standards.

Publications and Downloadable

Documents

 

Wolves & Fire Studio publishes investigations, explainers, essays, graphics, and other material in multiple formats.

We work to make newer publications and accompanying web content increasingly accessible. Complex figures, downloadable documents, PDFs, Microsoft Word files, archived publications, and other formats may present accessibility limitations depending on the document, software, assistive technology, or method used to access them. When practical, important information presented visually is also explained in the surrounding publication or accompanying text.

 

Older and Archived Content

 

Wolves & Fire Studio is actively reviewing and migrating older material into its current publication system. Some legacy pages, archived material, older graphics, or previously published documents may not meet the same accessibility practices used for newer or substantially revised content. Accessibility improvements may be made as those materials are reviewed, revised, migrated, or republished.

Third-Party Content and Services

 

Wolves & Fire Studio links to and may use content, websites, platforms, documents, embeds, or services operated by third parties. We do not control the accessibility of third-party services or content. Their accessibility practices may differ from ours. When a third-party service creates an accessibility barrier to W&F content or functionality, we welcome notice so we can determine whether an alternative is reasonably available.
